Dallas Emergency Plan
The City of Dallas wants you to know that your City Government is doing everything possible to prepare for storms and other emergencies and to help residents when needed.  The City has developed detailed plans for all types of emergencies.  The City Manager is the emergency manager for our City.  He and the various department managers provide emergency responses.

Our City also coordinates with Polk County and the State Government if an emergency requires assistance beyond the capacity of the City government.  However, all of us need to remember that every household should prepare an emergency plan that will sustain them for the first 72 hours of a widespread severe emergency.

The information links provided below explain what we as individuals can do to prepare to care for our families, our friends if necessary, and ourselves.  Everyone needs to seriously consider adopting a family plan, which describes where you would seek assistance and what steps you can take to protect yourselves and your property until help arrives.  Please take the time to review the information provided and prepare your plan.

Emergency numbers should be posted near phones so they are easily accessible for family members.  In the case of an emergency situation, radio and TV stations will help disseminate information, including warnings for the City.  The Fire Department will have direct contact with the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) when activation is deemed appropriate.

During an actual emergency, the City will provide regular updates on our website. Please check there often during an emergency for the latest information.
