For Parents - Five Steps to Finding Quality Child Care
Finding and choosing good, affordable child care is sometimes challenging for a busy family. If you're looking for care for your preschooler or a summer program for your school age child, here is a new resource that can help. Five Steps to Finding Quality Child Care is a free guide designed for parents. It features up-to-date information on what every parent should know about finding and choosing the care that is right for their child. The guide also contains information on federal and state tax credits for child care payments and other resources to help make child care more affordable.

*Free copies in English and in Spanish are available at the Dallas Public Library.

Homeschooling Resources:
If you're new to home schooling, stop by the Parenting Shelf in the Children's Room, to pick up a copy of the Homeschooling Resource Guide. You'll find information about Oregon laws and regulations, homeschooling organizations, curriculum retailers, and suggested materials organized by subject area that can be found in the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library System. Internet sites for homeschooling families are also listed, as are periodicals and 4-H resources. This guide is free and was published with funds from the Ready to Read grant that is distributed through the Oregon State Library.
