The Friends of the Dallas Public Library is a 501(c)(3) organization of volunteers who raise funds for the Library and its programs. In addition, members of the Friends act as ambassadors for the library at community functions, and as support for the staff when they need help with events, programs, etc. The major fund raiser is the annual Book Sale which is held in July at the Civic Center in conjunction with SummerFest.
